Matthias Lee is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University, with a focus on analyzing and processing massive scientific data-sets. His interests lie in Software Performance, eHealth, GPU-acceleration, NoSQL databases, Low-power ARM computing, cloud computing and everything Linux. He also works at IBM Cloudant as a performance engineer where he designs, develops and deploys performance testing and analysis frameworks. Matthias is also an active member and former president of the Baltimore Node Hackerspace. He enjoys tinkering on many projects, large and small, from computers and micro-controllers to auto mechanics and woodworking, from brewing beer to casting aluminum and everything in between.
