Matthias Lee

    

Matthias Lee received his PhD in Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University, where he a focused on analyzing and processing massive scientific data-sets. His interests lie in Software/Systems Performance, mHealth/eHealth, GPU-acceleration, Machine Learning, NoSQL databases Cloud computing and everything Linux.

Currently Dr. Lee is the Principal Performance Engineer at Appian, designing, developing and deploying performance assertion and analysis frameworks. Previously he worked on Performance Engineering Teams for IBM's Rational Team Concert ('10-'15) and Cloudant NoSQL DBaaS ('15-'17). He is also an active member and former president of the Baltimore Node Hackerspace. He enjoys tinkering on many projects, large and small, from computers and micro-controllers to auto mechanics and woodworking, from brewing beer to casting aluminum and everything in between.
